Paul has studied a MSc in Health Psychology, PGDip in Integrative Psychotherapy, BSc in Psychology and a Diploma in Sex Addiction. Paul is also a Trustee of the Association of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC).
Paul is a qualified psychotherapist and addiction practitioner. His area of interest for research and clinical practise focuses on behavioural addictions, relationship therapy, sexual behaviour, addiction and sexual dysfunctions.
Paul was awarded the Hugh Wagner Memorial Prize for achieving the highest dissertation mark in the School of Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire. The qualitative dissertation resulted in a research paper being published in the Journal of sexual and relationship therapy. Also Paul worked on a peer reviewed paper on Sexual compulsivity. After graduating from The University of Central Lancashire UCLAN with a First class honours degree in Psychology. Paul studied a MSc in Health Psychology where he conducted a master’s thesis into health perspectives of sex addiction and sexual compulsivity. Paul went on to study a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy. Paul also graduated from a PGDip in Integrative Psychotherapy with a distinction.

Paul Tidy also completed a Diploma Course “working with Sex Addiction” which provides training for professionals to work with individuals and couples for whom sex addiction (sexual compulsivity) is an issue. Paul has completed a certificate course in working with couples and is currently working with individuals and couples in Preston and Manchester.
Paul works with a range of issues from Gambling Addiction, Trauma to Communication and Emotional Issues.
As a Psychotherapist and Addiction Specialist, Paul works with clients who are experiencing difficulties with Addiction & Compulsivity; which may impact on individuals and family life. Paul also provides support and works with partners of addicts.
